Extensive internal re-fit and conversion to a building that had undergone virtually continuous development from 16th Century through to Edwardian times by which time it had become a substantial country house situated in its own landscaped grounds.
Works included floor levelling throughout. An internal strip-out and re-modelling with fitted bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms and kitchen all made in Nutshell’s joinery workshops. New stairs were designed, constructed and installed. Everything was built to the highest specification including extensive use of specialist marble for all bathrooms.
In conjunction with the country house, Nutshell converted and improved its nearby stud farm for thoroughbred horses. The existing 18th Century tithe-style barn was converted for office use and as an occasional educational space. All stabling was completely modernised with the addition of a specialist state of the art veterinary inspection room.
